Effective Communicator

In my four years of high school I have learned to become an effective communicator. This year as a senior I took a class called peer education where I had to be an effective communicator because we worked in teams of four and we presented to a class of sophomores. As a team we had to work through our conflicts by communicating with each other. We also needed to talk about how we wanted to accomplish certain ideas and how we wanted to get them across the students we were going to teach. Becoming an effective communicator was especially important when it came to teaching our students because we needed to get our point across in a way that would carry on with them after we were done with the lesson. As a whole team we had to be able to communicate with our students because if we weren’t able to do that in an effective way the whole lesson would have been messed up. Because we were able to communicate effectively with our students, they were able to grasp the concept of our lessons and take it with them. Being an effective communicator has helped me out greatly in my career as a high school student. I have been able to work through conflicts with my peers, discuss my ideas, express what I feel about something but still hold respect for others and listen to what they have to say as well. I am glad I was able to take on the task of becoming an effective communicator and being able to really grasp what its concept and put it into practice.
